But I have to say that 21-years for 77 murders (albeit one left somewhat open ended, so in reality he's probably never getting out so why am I posting this -- oh well too far in to stop now) seems shockingly little.
Anders Behring Breivik, the Norwegian far-right extremist, has been sentenced to at least 21 years in prison after a court declared he was sane throughout his murderous rampage last year that killed 77 people.

He won't get out? He's only 33. He will be 54 when he is released. That will make his fanboys Pam Geller, Daniel Pipes, and John Derbyshire absolutely joyous!
Not a fair sentence, I agree. I wonder what the law is in Norway regarding early release, etc.
I wish they'd let the SOB out today do the families of his victims could let him know how they fell about him.
I understand they have maximum sentence laws in Norway. They couldn't give him more time. But they reserve the right to redo him later on. Remember they don't have the system of grief we do. Most people over there don't need 50 to life to reform.

There is a maximum sentence limit in Norway, but a judge can decide to keep someone incarcerated when the time is up if circumstances demand it. He is never getting out.
Let us all hope he is never getting out, plenty other crazies are out there already.

he couldn't get 21 yrs per death? well, maybe they have some mean vikings in the general population willing to punish him too.
while with actual danes this may and passing inmate picking up trash on the highway, they mentioned they would not do that in denmark because it is too humiliating. even tho the side of the road was beautiful + not hot hot. in the boonies.
The sentence can be renewed. The Norwegians are lovely, tolerant people but on one is THAT tolerant.
He'll never get out. (Good thing they didn't find him to be insane -- in that case, he might have gotten out eventually.)
STILL loving it!
