A "supervolcano" might sound like something out of a sci-fi fantasy film, but one supervolcano lies hidden near Pompeii, Italy, where thousands were killed in 79 A.D., and it could potentially kill millions.Ooh, let's battle it out with Italy and Indonesia (Toba) over who's potential super volcano is worse...
"These areas can give rise to the only eruptions that can have global catastrophic effects comparable to major meteorite impacts," Giuseppe De Natale, head of a drilling project to monitor the molten "caldera" in the area west of Naples known as Campi Flegrei, told Reuters.
Or we can have the battle of mega annihilation between "Super Volcano"; Giant Meteorite; Nearby Super Nova.
Personally, I'm betting on giant space shark.
I just hope we manage to poison the environment enough to kill us all before any of these events happen.

Ah, but we have our own super-volcano underneath Yellowstone.
USA!!!!1111!!.
Montag beat me to it. I believe that the Yellowstone Caldera may be the largest of all of them. So reassuring to those of us he live at ground zero when it goes boom (the shock wave will get here before the news does).
I think about that every year when I'm hiking in YNP. Much better to go in the blast than starve at home in Iowa buried under 30 feet of ash.
butbutbut it can save the polar bears.
Toba, well, it nearly wiped out all of humanity so that's pretty cool, and it's on a really active region of the ring of fire, so that's super cool...
but a space shark... now THAT's like AWESOME! a real 2 popcorn and a soda event for the history channel at least!
