Say what you want

This guy has guts.

The individual responsible for one of the most significant leaks in US political history is Edward Snowden, a 29-year-old former technical assistant for the CIA and current employee of the defence contractor Booz Allen Hamilton. Snowden has been working at the National Security Agency for the last four years as an employee of various outside contractors, including Booz Allen and Dell...

In a note accompanying the first set of documents he provided, he wrote: "I understand that I will be made to suffer for my actions," but "I will be satisfied if the federation of secret law, unequal pardon and irresistible executive powers that rule the world that I love are revealed even for an instant."
Despite his determination to be publicly unveiled, he repeatedly insisted that he wants to avoid the media spotlight. "I don't want public attention because I don't want the story to be about me. I want it to be about what the US government is doing."

He does not fear the consequences of going public, he said, only that doing so will distract attention from the issues raised by his disclosures. "I know the media likes to personalise political debates, and I know the government will demonise me."

Well, maybe not too much.

The second layer of accusations are the important ones. Apparently the NSA has been lying to Congress consistently and repeatedly since, well, basically forever. And Congress is basically OK with that.

Time to clean house. And Senate.

there's alot more going on here than we can see from outside, which is the problem, of course, but a reality that is also necessary for government to function in the wider world.

now, if only we had a press corps that would clearly and consistantly INVESTIGATE without partisan or corporate agendas and remember that this crap started under the rethugs and was deeply entrenched and when the rest of us dared to even so much as make a squeak of dissent we were labeled unamerican...

i'm tired of the republicans and neo conservatives and the corps having it all both ways...

pin it on em and keep it there. and obama didn't dare dismantle alot of this stuff his first term, they would have screamed bloody murder that he was all about muslims and our enemies...

funny, i remember putting my little mitt in the air way back in 79 to swear i'd protect the constitution of the usa from all enemies, foreign and domestic...

naive to think it's all that simple now.
