Pitching a smaller tent, part two

Hey, you know who was in a somewhat younger demo?

Jesus:

In the report, the young Republican activists acknowledge their party has suffered significant damage in recent years. A sampling of the critique on:

Gay marriage: “On the ‘open-minded’ issue … [w]e will face serious difficulty so long as the issue of gay marriage remains on the table.”

Hispanics: “Latino voters … tend to think the GOP couldn’t care less about them.”
That's not true -- they ABSOLUTELY can care even less.

Perception of the party’s economic stance: “We’ve become the party that will pat you on your back when you make it, but won’t offer you a hand to help you get there.”
Well, 80 percent true, the GOP will give you a single specific finger.

Big reason for the image problem: The “outrageous statements made by errant Republican voices.”
i.e. A great deal of Republican voices.
Words that up-for-grabs voters associate with the GOP: “The responses were brutal: closed-minded, racist, rigid, old-fashioned.”
Why those kids today with their thinking, tolerance and IPads!

Yup, the problem isn't the product, it's the brand.

More Aquafresh next time.

“outrageous statements made by errant Republican voices.” Like elected congressmen, governors, senators, stat and local officials, ex-cabinet members, party officials, conservative media outlets and business leaders. You know ... The fringe.

Time for the corporate-MBA-tards of the GOP to "reboot the brand" with "fresh marketing"!

But there isn't enough mouthwash in the world to cover up the stink of stupid and bigoted.

Funny, in the `80s, the College Republicans--then run by Jack Abramoff--were screaming about communists, praising monsters like Joseph Savimbi and Roberto D'Aubisson and recycling every right-wing crackpot from the `50s they could find.

Very reminiscent of... now.

When Repugs are out of the White House, they whine about minorities not voting for them. When Repugs are in the White House, they do everything possible to shit on them. You'd think that bright young people like CRs--all of them desperate for jobs in the government--would figure out the basic problem.

Apparently, they have not.
