Capo to Capo

I should always know better than to walk into the stinking den of decay that is the National do not edit Review, let alone read anything bearing the byline of David Frum. But if being an ardent progressive has taught me anything, it's how to indulge in masochism. The Sadism is always supplied by the right-wing cretins like Frum, who take the hot-candle wax of failure and dump it upon truth's clamped up, perky, little nipples.

While justifying the awarding of the nation's highest civilian honor to the Larry, Moe & Curly of America's Iraq Policy, Frum states:

But the president is doing something important. He is declaring to the officials and soldiers who are executing this policies that he will stand behind them when things get tough; that he won't go seeking scapegoats; that he fully, strongly, and publicly supports the individuals he himself chose to carry out the tasks he himself assigned. There's a lot of loose talk about President Bush's demands for loyalty. One thing that critics of this president have never grasped is that he has been unprecedentedly successful in claiming loyalty up because he is unprecedentedly committed to loyalty down.

Loyalty above all huh? Gee, isn't that how the Mafia works? Check the videotape, do Franks, Tenet and Bremer have both of their pinkies?
