$300 Billion...

More than 1750 dead American soldiers, as many as 100,000 Iraqi civilians, so that we alleged can fight them there so we don't have to fight them in New York OR London and what happens:

Police raised the death toll from the four rush-hour bombings in London to more than 50 people on Friday, and said each of the bombs contained less than 10 pounds of high explosives.

The whole Iraqi misadventure morphing into the fight for prevention is, if possible, the biggest lie of all.

It ignores history. Today's Al Qaeda was yesterdays Afghan Mujehedin fighting the Soviets, tomorrows will be those being trained by fighting us. And here's no secret, we are a hell of a lot better than the Soviets technologically and training-wise, so those surviving this experience will be a hell of a lot better than today's Al Qaeda.

And 4 bombs with less than 10 pounds of material is disturbingly low tech. Remember 9/11 was based on fucking boxcutters. No matter how many hundreds of billions we dump into Iraq, the so-called "war on terror" will be no better, in fact it will likely be worse. Today, tomorrow and forever, a few people, with little money can reap incredible chaos and harm. You are not going to prevent such actions by building up grievances and grudges -- which is exactly what we are doing now.

All it means is perpetual war, perpetual defense contract money, perpetual suffering, perpetual death, and perpetual lies.

Good job Chimp.
