Ward Churchill and Related Matters

For those interested in the saga of University of Colorado’s ethnic studies professor, Ward Churchill, there is the first of a two part interview with him conducted by Joshua Frank on CounterPunch on-line.

Churchill provides some background on some of his accusers as well as highlights other cases of documented plagiarisms. He is critical of liberal left responses in many instances, including his own case.

Another case of interest involves the work of Norman Finkelstein. Author of a forthcoming book “Beyond Chutzpah: On the
Misuse of Anti-Semitism and the Abuse of History, a book that is a highly critical take on Alan Dershowitz’s Chutzpah (1992) and the latter’s scholarship. Finkelstein has a site devoted to his book and related matters at his site.

Co-editor of CounterPunch.com, Alexander Cockburn has had several essays on Dershowitz’s scholarship which amplify Finkelstein’s claims that can be accessed on the CounterPunch site.

For a summary of some of the tactics Professor Dershowitz has mobilized to combat Finkelstein, see Jon Wiener’s, "Giving Chutzpah New Meaning."
