Fuck the Cocktail Press

Today we have a clear clash of cultures in the nation's newspapers. First the bad one.
We have, perhaps the biggest Whiny Assed Titty Baby in the country who isn't working for the Bush Administration (sorry Jimmy Jeff Gannon), the Washington Post's Jim Brady.

Brady makes up two, and in my opinion, probably three things, all in one paragraph defending Lovie Howell:

In her Jan. 15 column, Howell erred in saying that Abramoff gave campaign donations to Democrats as well as Republicans. In fact, Abramoff directed clients to give to members of both parties, but he had donated his own personal funds only to Republicans.

Howell's inadvertent error prompted a handful of bloggers to urge their readers to go to post.blog to vent their discontent, and in the subsequent four days we received more than a thousand comments in our public forum. Only, the word "comments" doesn't convey the obscene, vituperative tone of a lot of the postings, which were the sort of things you might find carved on the door of a public toilet stall. About a hundred of them had to be removed for violating the Post site's standards, which don't allow profanity or personal attacks.

1. There has been no evidence that Abramoff "DIRECTED" client funds to both Republicans and Democrats.

In fact, JIMBO, the evidence is to the contrary. Democrats got substantially less money from Abramoff from clients that had traditionally given to them in larger numbers than Republicans. Abramoff actually DIRECTED money away from Democrats you fuckin' moron. JEEBUS!!

2. There's little or no evidence that Howell would have corrected her error had not we blogging riff raff held her feet to the fire. As for inadvertent error it took Howell, despite the plain and demonstrable nature of the error four days to correct it and here you are nearly a month later perpetuating the error of Abramoff "directing" -- something Howell continued to make as an error. If the Post has evidence that this occurred then Jim Brady is breaking news. How about some evidence Jimbo? Oh, that's right you don't have any -- you just continue to not comprehend, a choice perhaps?

3. Bitching about comments. Let me tell you something Diamond Jim, one of my comments was deleted and all it was was mockery of Lovie Howell from the "and the rest" cast of Gilligans Island. There was NO profanity, and certainly NO threat of violence.

This post has been about 100 times more offensive than that one, and yet it was removed by the Washington Post.

The good newspaper editorial in the next post.
