Not much has been said all over the internets about Abu Al's testimony last week to the Senate Judiciary Committee in which he said that nothing in the constitution guaranteed individuals the writ of habeas corpus. This is absolutely foundational in my humble opinion, like the principle of separation of powers, like the principle of judicial review. Our form of government collapses without it. Since matters of law are of some interest to some of us here on this bloggity blog I thougt it was worth giving this article by
David Bromwich a well deserved shout.
