The McNaught Comet is seen from Dunedin in New Zealand January 18, 2007. The comet, named after Australian astronomer Robert McNaught who discovered it last year, is 124 million kilometres from Earth and is the brightest comet in 40 years, sparking mistaken calls to fire and police authorities around New Zealand that something was falling from the sky.
