Music Time Fun

Interesting article on newly minted music genre 'Smart Rock'. I would put the Smiths into a different category myself.  Although the essay is overly focused on self-alienating musicians, it does help promote some under appreciated music.  Does the genre title mean all other rock is 'Dumb Rock' - I would certainly apply that to Kid Rock.  Ugh.

Speaking of music that deserves a wider audience, what are your favorites of 2008?  There was much to love this year.  I am personally struggling on where to put Kings of Leon and My Morning Jacket CDs in the top 20.  What did you think was great this year?
