And Yet, they'll keep voting Republican

Because that's what Jeebus wanted:

It is hardly unusual these days for a government building to forgo a fresh paint job or regular lawn care to cut costs. But last week, the director of the Jefferson County public nursing home was told that the county could no longer afford to bury indigent patients...

The main reason for the debacle is the invalidation of a tax the city replied upon -- a tax that could be easily fixed by the legislature, except they won't fix it. To be fair, it's not just a Republican problem, it's all of societies and the way we've framed taxes as being worse that racism and about equal to genocide. From Prop 13 to calling the estate tax the "death tax" our immaturity is stunning.

And speaking of this trend, two Republican State Senators in Florida -- who undoubtedly are tossing out the lie that health care reform will euthanize the elderly -- are simultaneously doing this:

Florida State Senator Carey Baker (R) and State Representative Scott Plakon (R) introduced a state Constitutional amendment that, if adopted, would prevent Floridians from enrolling in any federal health care plan.

That would be Florida, home of the largest collection of elderly voters in the United States, each and everyone of whom is on Medicare.

So these two, either gigantic morons or gigantic assholes, or perhaps just both, want to deride what a huge chunk of their citizen rely upon.

Now that's thinking like a Republican!
