Congratulations, Governor Spatafore!

New Jersey is famous for hating its politicians. So how long does it take them to turn on Chris Christie?

My prediction: 06/30/2010
NJ Pal's prediction: Labor Day, 2010

And Corzine? Don't worry about him. He's headed for Treasury. (Speaking of Corzine, I remembered last night that speculation was that he gave up his NJ Senate gig to run for NJ governor because after the Hell that was Election '04 the Democrats were going to go into the wilderness for 10,000 years and all the action was going to be in the states. Oh, wait ...)

Update: More post-election stuff ... NY Democratic party: would you please stop putting up political hacks and Board of Estimate Democrats for mayor now? Please? I'm sick of these people. In 1993 you ran David Dinkins (Hack). In 1998: Messinger (Hack). 2001? Mark Green (Hack). In 2005 it was Freddy Ferrer (Hack). This year Thompson took the dive (Hack). Beame was a party Hack. So was Koch. The result is that for more than half of my life, what should be the most Democratic city in the U.S. has been governed by non-Democrats. Time to wake up and stop nominating Democratic hacks because "It's their turn". Enough with the Board of Estimate Democrats. Nominate someone with a brain, some balls, and a little panache, who, when asked about their views of the now-defunct Board of Estimate doesn't lapse into some misty-eyed reverie about the "good old days" before the U.S. Supreme Court turned the City on its head. This article says Dems will immediately be coming out of the woodwork to run in 2013. I've got a better idea: take a deep breath, get a grip, sit yourselves down, and think. The days of the Hack and the Board of Estimate Democrat are over. Accept that reality and move forward.
