Albertans are actually the most conservative of Canadians, have a higher proportion of immigrants from the US than any other province, and, I would guess, the highest proportion of bible-thumpers.
Most Albertans would probably be shocked and dismayed to hear themselves referred to as socialists!
I'm afraid that the present job boom is more to do with exactly what the previous commenter mentioned...they seem to be quite proud of the atrocious things they are doing to the environment out there, and get quite upset if anyone criticizes them for it.
unions need to start demanding the government do health care. DEMAND MORE WAGES.
