Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) encapsulated some of the furor on the right, saying that “marriage was created by the hand of God. No man, not even a Supreme Court, can undo what a holy God has instituted.”Keep asserting dominance over those couch cushions Marcus!

Quite apart from the fact that this decision hasn't undone the institution of marriage, has One-L seen the divorce statistics lately?
Oh, hell, why bother? She's doing what every other leaping screamer on the religious right is doing--claiming this is a religious, not a civil, matter. States issue marriage licenses. They're contracts. It's no more complicated than that. So, unless she can prove that God wrote the various state statutes, she can just shut the fuck up.

...? WTF is she even talking about? This doesn't make any sense.
So, they'll ignore the ruling and continue with their enlightened torches-and-pitchforks response.
good point, Michelle. According to the Bible, God ordained marriage between one man and his wives and concubines...
Though I guess technically the man still had the right to have sex with his slaves if he so chose, because the Bible also ordained slavery.
...and genocide, did we forget genocide? God totally ordained that, too.
not according to my 1903 encyclopedia brittanica's entry on FAMILY.
