The NSA's enormous surveillance system can access around three-quarters of all U.S. internet traffic, snaring in some cases even email sent between U.S. citizens and domestic web phone calls.
Seriously, you KNOW that much of the 25% that is not monitored is made up of Nigerian email scams, viagram mass emails, "reverse mortgage" offers, and that email your right-wing uncle sends you about Obama being born in FILL IN AFRICAN NATION HERE.
And if your name is Mohammad, Ali, or Khalid I'd guess your internet traffic is 100 fuckin' percent monitored.
FREEANCE everybody!

meh.
we did not address this in 2006. that was when it need to be addressed.
So the NSA could protect us by following back the entire Nigerian e-mail scam industry, but they don't? What good are they?
how much is actually before eyes at the NSA, rather than those of private contractors? it's the privatization of our government that worries the hell out of me. our military, our gov, our schools, our prisons, our police, our security and spys...
and that is why i find the repub noise machine so vile. snowden seems like a rehash of monica lewinsky to me. a set up bought and paid for and timed to smear the one's who had the least hand in the creation of the mess.
