I'm glad Georgia is on someone's mind

Because they could use all the brain power they can get. One can almost detect the state as reflective of a regional pattern...and that pattern is a giant boat anchor on human progress.
A new Public Policy Polling (PPP) poll finds that a majority of Georgians believe in creationism over evolution. Entitled "Georgia Miscellany," the Thursday item surveyed a pool of 520 voters on 32 questions. On the issue of creationism vs. evolution, 53 percent believe more in the former, compared to 29 percent choosing the latter, and 18 percent voting not sure.

When that question was transferred over to party lines, Republicans had a staggering split -- 70 percent for creationism, 17 percent for evolution and 13 percent not sure. Democrats split along closer lines -- 43 percent for creationism, 33 percent for evolution and 24 percent not sure. Independents held an even narrower divide -- 46 percent for creationism, 40 percent for evolution and 14 percent not sure.
Great...uniformly AND regionally depressing. Like this.

If only there was a web page that could summarize the appropriate feelings for this reoccurring phenomena.

Paula Deen gave America Stuffing on a Stick, Deep Fried Cheesecake, and Bacon-Egg Burgers on Krispy Kreme Buns.

MLK never did anything like that.

The poll you cite in ur text was just 520 people. Given how the shithead pollsters, most of 'em for sale whores, "cherry" pick the rite wingers they load their samples with, I think there's a good chance that this is just more agit prop to make the left (outside Georgia and even more so in Georgia) believe this is the way most Georgians think. Pity the poor peeps in the South who can't get out whether due to economics, family, health or other compelling reasons. Think about how much the South and Southwest are gonna suck when there's no more energy for cheap air conditioning. Fuck 'em, piss on 'em is right. Sorry bout the ones who want to leave and can't.

FuckAR! Here in the extreme South, Texass, 9.5/tenths of the Bill of Right is sufficient for US; but, even take our guns away, and we'll persist in our murderous mayhem (we don't need NO Steenkeeng STOP signs)! Merely ask the NE- expatriate Bushs, particularly Laura!
