Cheney is a Dick

No mystery to readers of this blog that the middling triumverate and, near as I can tell just about every commenter that weighs in on the issue, believe Bush has made a super-sized fuck-up of our occupation in Iraq. We can all count the reasons, right? Not enought body-armor, not enough armored vehicles, extending stays of guards and reserves, having to tap the Individual Ready Reserve. The list goes on and feel free to add your own. But it can all be categorized as, well, not supporting the military adequately, or more precisely, not supporting the people in the military.

Well now comes news that the Pentagon is going to have to make-do with less next time a budget is submitted to Congress. Now not to worry, the victory funds pledged to Iraq and Afghanistan won't be affected as they are off-budget emergency allocations.

This all got me to thinking about how Bush and Cheney campaigned against Gore back in 2000 on military budgets and readiness issues. So I did a little research. I wish I could write that I had to do a lot of digging to come up with this but finding it actually took less time than it took to type the last two sentences, without, by the way, a lexis-nexis subscription which is not in our budget here at the RH.

So lets just savor the words of that insuffferable liar, permanent smirk wearing, snarly-faced phony-baloney piece of shit vice-chimp from the 2000 campaign:
I met a woman on a rope line in Yakima, Washington, this morning. Her son, a Naval Academy graduate, a Marine captain, is getting ready to get out of the service because of his dissatisfaction with the level of support they are receiving -- the Joint Chiefs of Staff, before Congress just two weeks ago, testifying they have been robbing Peter to pay Paul, in terms of trying to support and sustain the force in the field.

There is a problem. It is serious. This is an all- volunteer force. We have an obligation to provide the troops with everything they need to do the job we ask them to do for us. And I don't think this administration has been doing that. I think they have overcommitted the force and not provided sufficient resources.

Got all that? That was Cheney (piece-of-shit, snarly-faced, permanent-smirk-wearing, fucking, double-standard, hypocrite liar) about Clinton's military. We are now a nation at war. Where is the obligation to provide the troops with everything they need to do the job we ask them to do for us, you stinking miserable asshole? Where is the outrage?

Sorry for screaming. Oh, and by the way, this theme is coming back out as needed as Chimpy is using a military theme for his inauguration.
