Egyptian Envoy "Kidnapped" in Iraq:

Egypt's foreign ministry says it is checking reports that the country's new ambassador to Iraq has been kidnapped.
Egyptian diplomatic sources said Ihab al-Sherif was kidnapped in Baghdad on Saturday. Witnesses said gunmen seized him as he was buying a newspaper.

Mr Sherif arrived in Baghdad on 1 June as Egypt's top diplomat, and was subsequently upgraded to ambassador.

Last week, Iraq's foreign minister praised Egypt for becoming the first Arab country to upgrade ties with Iraq.
