Irony, fuckin' irony

Ken Starr, may have been involved in lying and trying to suborn perjury!

Lawyers for a death row inmate, including former Whitewater independent counsel Kenneth Starr, sent fake letters from jurors asking California’s governor to spare the man’s life, prosecutors said Friday.

The jurors denied they thought Michael Morales deserved clemency because some of the testimony at his trial may have been fabricated, said Nathan Barankin, spokesman for Attorney General Bill Lockyer.

“We showed each person the declaration on their behalf and they all said they didn’t say that,” Barankin said.

Lying and suborning perjury is what Starr accused Clinton of, and what the whole impeachment "supposedly" was based upon, for those of you who had tried to erase it from your memories.

UPDATE: Sometimes when you blog you never really know, especially if your a B-Lister, what will generate hits and what won't. I've been out for most of the afternoon and it should be said this is an accusation, not an indictment - and that Starr may have utilized an investigator who is really in trouble.

Still, considering what Starr put Clinton through, and certainly what the press put Clinton through on the flimsiest accusations it still doesn't lose the allure of delightful irony to me.

By the way, I'm against the death penalty - I don't think the guy should be executed on principle. However, I also don't think he should be defended by making shit up.
