Good Riddance...But not so fast!

NYT:

Karl Rove, President Bush’s political adviser, intends to resign at the end of this month to return to Texas, according to an interview published this morning on the Web site of the The Wall Street Journal.

“I just think it’s time,” Mr. Rove said, according to the interview. “There’s always something that can keep you here, and as much as I’d like to be here, I’ve got to do this for the sake of my family.” ...

Mr. Rove said he had raised the prospect of his departure with President Bush a year ago but had finally chosen to leave now after White House Chief of Staff Joshua Bolten told senior Bush aides that if they stayed in the administration past Labor Day they would have to remain until the end of the president’s term in January 2009, according to the interview.

"All The President's Men:"
Woodward: The story is dry. All we've got are pieces. We can't seem to figure out what the puzzle is supposed to look like. John Mitchell resigns as the head of CREEP, and says that he wants to spend more time with his family. I mean, it sounds like bullshit, we don't exactly believe that...

Deep Throat: No, heh, but it's touching. Forget the myths the media's created about the White House. The truth is, these are not very bright guys, and things got out of hand.

Bob Woodward: Hunt's come in from the cold. Supposedly he's got a lawyer with $25,000 in a brown paper bag.

Deep Throat: Follow the money.
D.C. press corps:

If you believe that little Joshua Bolten tells piggy Karl what to do, there's a bridge in Brooklyn I'd like to sell you.
