Who's whackier? You may as well ask who was the better painter, Jaques Louis David, Picaso or Degas? All are great painters with different styles. It's the same with the GOP presidential candidates - all are fantastically flawed in their own special way. Man on Dog frothy Santorum actually thinks he has a shot after losing his last election by more than 15 points. Oh, and he showed a dead fetus to his kids. Bachmann is a pee-wee leaguer who can't even see that she has no sane reason for being in the bigs. Rick "Pray-for-rain" Perry is dumber than Dubya - something I really didn't think was possible. He makes Bush look like a Rhodes Scholar. Newt is a flat-out sociopath who divorced his wife in the hospital. He's so delusional he thinks he's a great man of destiny. Romney wears magic underware. I'm waiting for Santorum or Paul to ask him if he's wearing them during one of the debates. And Paul ... He thinks there's a conspiracy to get us all on some kind of North American currency - the Amero. Jesus. These guys and gal are just all fucking nuts.

Well, as Greg Marmalard says of Faber's fraternities, they're all outstanding in their own ways.

But, asking the question begs another: is it really fair to single out one inmate of the asylum as king or queen of the crazies? Is there truly a Hannibal Lecter in the bunch?

I think not. They are all, ultimately, comically irrelevant. All display mendacity, megalomania, general ignorance and hilarious crackpottery in varying proportions, in the desperate attempt to become the alter ego of the Iowa Republican base, which is itself certifiable.

So, no, to my mind, none rise above the others. They all get an "A" for entertainment value, even if their acts are slightly different from each other.

'comically irrelevant'.....
Until Romney becomes president.

And it might happen.

For sheer wackiness, it's Bachmann...she brought anti-intellecutalism, and ignorance to new levels during the Iowa process...However, I predict a Santorum win...because he's the "cream of the crap"...
