All You Need to Know -- Not that You are Supposed to Know it

I swear I just heard Joe Biden speak in regard to Obama's statement that if there is actionable intelligence about Al Qaeda in Pakistan "we" would act if Musharraf wouldn't.

Despite the punditry's spin that saying this was some sort of horrible gaffe (and really as demonstrated below, what a bunch of assholes) Biden rightly pointed out that THIS is actually American policy, it's just that he was critical of Bush for not acting on it enough.

That is correct.

But then what Biden went on to say was that Obama's error was openly mentioning that THIS was the actual American policy.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGHHHHHHHHH!

There are obviously "national security" concerns about some things being known publicly, but how the fuck can one justify in a country that prides itself on democracy and free expression that it is wrong to tell people what our policy actually is?

That's many things (Bush Administration Behavior), but it isn't Democracy.
