Shorter Fred Hiatt: "I'm just Criminally Stupid"

Yes, it is Washington Post Day here at one of the best liberal snark blogs in the Greater Des Moines Metro Region (if I may be so bold).

Even when Hiatt decries torture, he still can't get his head out of his ass -- and his ability to "trust" the Bush Administration while reciting it's malfeasance is truly a work of stupefying foolishness.

ATTORNEY GENERAL nominee Michael B. Mukasey may have his doubts about what constitutes waterboarding and whether it is illegal. Daniel Levin has no such questions....

[therein follows litany of Bush Administration policies on torture and use of waterboarding and their forcing out Levin for saying waterboarding is torture]

AND THEN!

Mr. Levin, now in private practice with a Washington law firm, declined to discuss the matter. But his name can be added to the roster of accomplished conservative lawyers, including former deputy attorney general James B. Comey and former Office of Legal Counsel chief Jack L. Goldsmith, who found themselves fighting to sustain the rule of law in an administration too often eager to suspend it. If Mr. Mukasey is confirmed, as we believe he should be, the eradication of this kind of disregard for principle and law should be his first priority.

Is Fred Hiatt still writing letters to Santa? [BTW, he's definitely on the "Coal" list (though Hiatt's ass-crack could turn that bastard into diamonds)]

How stupid and determinedly naive can one person be?*

*A lot if they are also a douchebag.
