Remaking Marriage

Actual quote from the ruling today: “Gender no longer forms an essential part of marriage.”
This is a court ruling, not an academic seminar at Berkeley.
This isn’t about equality. This is about recreating our fundamental institutions.
Says the woman who's relationship experience in total is dreaming of being a barnacle during Fleet Week and getting shot down by both Mitt Romney and Rich Lowry.

Nice composition there, K-Lo.
Why Berkeley and not, say....U. of Iowa? Didn't Iowa do the same as Calif.?
Kathryn Jean Lopez expounding on the state of marriage is perfectly fitting, a reflection of something that, well, any one of those rightwing role models who have such enduring and strong marriages. You know ... Rush Limbaugh, Newt Gingrich, David Vitter, Ted Haggard, Larry Craig, Mark Sanford, John McCain, Bob Barr, Dick Armey, Phil Gramm ...
sorta like priestly marriage advice.
Ah, well, it would just be cruel to remind K-Lo of that old Woody Allen joke....
