While some lawmakers press for a timetable for withdrawing U.S. troops from Iraq, Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld made no promises on Sunday and said commanders' assessments will determine the pace of any military drawdown.
Right now, I have little doubt that Commanders are ordered to require such orders to come down in a timely fashion for the 2006 elections.
Cynical and as disastrous as ever is our Bush Administration.
For the callous Mr. Rumsfeld though, it is all an abstraction -- just like a dead or wounded soldier.
