A Glimmer of Promise in Stale Hate

Very busy right now, but I wanted to offer you some Thomas Frank until such time as I get my act together long enough to post something substantive (or silly).
Apparently [John McCain] has seen a glimmer of promise in that stale hate and is ready to pick up where the machine left off. Some maverick. Then again, why shouldn't he? His party embodies the motto of Chicago politics – "Where's mine?"
– even better than the machine's patronage army did 50 years ago.

Speaking of silly, this is rather amusing. A little Oedipal drama by way of Staten Island courtesy of Vito Fossella, who is retiring to spend more time with his family....both of them.

Back soon ...
