Well, thank goodness

We've put off ending those tax cut giveaways to billionaires until the next election cycle.

Because that's how things are done.

Meanwhile, the rest of you enjoy the 13 months of extended gruel coverage.

This version of events casts the cowards as being in Congress...but honestly if the last 45 years have taught me anything, there's more than enough cowardice in the Democratic Party to go around...the only thing there is more of is finger-pointing.

Of course the GOP does it's own share of finger pointing, it's just that they use one particular finger and point it at the rest of the country instead of each other.

This is change you can believe in.

Ultimately, this defers, once again, a return to prior levels of taxation--what was paid by the very wealthy prior to 2001. Most people in the billionaire range are still only paying 15% on the principal sources of their wealth--capital gains. But, let's say a billionaire is getting this perk on $1 billion ordinary income. That 4.6% difference is $46 million in a single year, which is roughly the median income earner's working lifetime wages for twenty people, the equivalent of 900 years of median wages.

Another mile marker on that rocket-powered handbasket ride to hell....

What you said, Atta, Montag and StonyPillow. I don't have the strength anymore, but the Rude Pundit does -- in excellent high dudgeon, impressive even for him.

Gird your loins first, however.

girding loins have anything to do with marinating a cut of loins for barbeque?
Marinating a cut of some rich m-f's girded loins for grilling sounds savage, but I hear we taste like chicken.
Cannibalism is an option.

right if you can't cut Social Security directly, just cut the funding, like Obama just did.

hail to the chief Obama

We got a lot of stuff for this.

Talking about the tax rate extension without looking at the other side of the deal is pointless.

If a slightly-higher deficit for two years is the cost of UI extension and the other low-income tax breaks, and clears the deck for DADT repeal, START, and the DREAM Act, so be it.

I REALLY want to see DADT repealed. I'm glad Obama didn't give up on it for the Lame Duck session.

there's no trap, Pooper.
This is yet another instance of Obama fucking over you leftist extremists that thought he might be as stupid as you are.
Barack clearly isn't stupid as he understands the basic economic principles that increasing taxes of the rich just causes them to move assets and take risk elsewhere, thus causing higher unemployment and deep recession.
