Unleash the fury

Oh, here we go:
The effort to derail Mitt Romney’s presidential quest heightened dramatically on Friday when a super PAC associated with Newt Gingrich outbid all comers for the rights to a scathing 30-minute attack video depicting Romney as a greedy, job-killing corporate raider “more ruthless than Wall Street.” In a season filled with negative ads and rhetorical crossfire, the striking feature of the film, aside from its mini-documentary length, is its authorship. The film was made by Jason Killian Meath, a former associate of Romney’s top strategists, Stuart Stevens and Russ Schriefer. Meath had worked for the Romney campaign in 2008, creating much of the ad content for that failed effort.
It may as well have been sponsored by Obama 2012. But it also really shows the strength of the "occupy" movement. (via AmericaBlog)

Nah, I don't think the Occupy movement is the driving force here.

What it does show, however, is that the Repugs are all jackals.

Yeah, I puzzled over the Occupy connection too. But anything that supports the Wall-Street-looter meme is welcome. Videos like this bring us closer to a tipping point.

It almost makes me want to send Gingrich a contribution. Almost.

This gonna be entertaining. Newt has never been constrained by facts or rationality, once he gets going

The jackals thing, absolutely, but also do you notice how the "deficit" has pretty much disappeared as a talking point in the last year? I think Dr. Turk is right that on a meta- level, the discourse has really changed -- both Occupy and the fact that the very real economic distress has had a chance to "trickle up".

I can see why that statement was occupied. They're saying this guy is even worse than Wall Street, worse than the institutions so corrupt as to cause nationwide protests.

I don't know how much the piece owes to the occupy movement, but the narrative style and presentation is an obvious lift from "The Power of Nightmares," a BBC docu by Adam Curtis. Which is definitely worth a watch if you haven't seen it. A search should take you to a site where you can watch a streaming version.

the "greater evil" vs. the "lesser evi".

wall st has got both sides working for them. How can Obama lose? either way, the American public loses.

all those Right wingers are just prepping us for Obama/ the Greater/Lesser Evil, still Evil.

God must hate America and all our "freedoms" to have imposed the Corporate State.

if i were religious i would pray to have my "God" smite those "heathens."

after all killing in the name of GOD is how Right wing Christians here in America operate.
