As I was saying

Exactly Two Weeks ago:
And what we also have is another mass slaughter from a gun. And we all know what will come of it, no matter how logical and non-violative of the Second Amendment new restrictions would be…nothing will come of it.

And one year from now we are almost certain to have at least one additional incident of mass murder by gun.

Since 1982, there have been at least 36 mass murders* carried out with firearms across the United States.

And all we will have accomplished is the interregnum before the next one.
Make that a fortnight, not a year.

But of course, we are told NOW is not the time to discuss whether we need some rationality in the proliferation of weapons that are handy for spree-killers.  So we do not.  Instead, I'm sure some right-wing genius will ponder why the Sikhs don't exchange their ceremonial daggers for an AK-47 the way Jesus intended, because then somehow this would have been prevented.  And for that he will not receive scorn, but a bunch of heh indeeds.

Blather, rinse, repeat.

This is the kind of country the NRA wants. You can’t fear their gunly powers without reminders of how powerful they are.
