In a sign of the political hangover congressional Republicans are suffering in the wake of the government shutdown, three-quarters of Americans in a new national poll say that most GOP members of Congress don't deserve to be re-elected.
It seems to me that the keyword in this is "most." When it comes down to voting day, this inevitably translates to "everybody but my representative."
One has to be a truly extraordinary fuck-up and a world-class asshole to not get re-elected in this country (see, for example, Joe Walsh and Allen West), such is the power of incumbency.
We'll have to wait and see if this sentiment persists through election day, but I'm not getting my hopes up just yet.

that's too bad...teehee
But they will....
Why do they bother with polls like this?
Anonymous, I'm with you on this. When it comes time to vote, most people are either stupid or apathetic. The rabid ones elect (or re-elect) idiots.

Unfortunately it doesn't count unless that's how the voters in their individual districts feel.
keep digging!
