Ask Dr. Attaturk, June 18, 2005

Question No. 1:

Aaaaaah Waaaaaa?

I love it when Pat Sajak sends me fan letters! Sale on vowels this week apparently, or is that just a perk of the job. If so, see if in addition to the "i" you can get yourself a "C" an "H" and and "N" and figure out what you are missing.

Question No. 2:

Okay. Bush can not run for President again, and more and more evidence
keeps coming out about how craven and evil he is, and yet 35% of Americans are still crazy in love with him. What is up with that?

Politics, like sports, has its teams. If you root for the Republican Team, to admit the other side or the critics are right is showing insincere rooting interests. That is what is going on. So many Republicans have held their breath and gone along for the plunge that to admit he was wrong, means to admit that all they stand for is wrong, especially on the non-traditional Republican things like...

...Profligate Spending
...A Bad Stock Market
...A Stagnant job market
...Foreign Intervention
...Governmental interference with private decisions

On the other hand, it is quite possible that 35% of the country, at a minimum, is plumb nutty on a level equalling, or surpassing, Commander Cuckoo Bananas.
