But do they leave a Stain on Red Dress?

This may be the beginning of the impeachment. Yes, yea, oh yeah we have called and cried and screamed at all who would listen that the Bush regime used shenanigans to get elected not once but twice and many more times. But would anyone listen? No, no they would not.

Now comes word that super sensational charisma-man John "man of few words" Kerry has told acquaintances over the past year that he suspects the election was stolen in 2004 but that he lacked the hard proof to challenge the official results. But one effect of Kerry's avoidance of a public battle may be the despair among millions of Americans who feel that their democratic birthright was taken along with the last two presidential elections.

Now to add fuel to our call for impeachment proceedings against Bush and the other wingnuts, the New York Times is arguing that the Bushies knew a source was lying to them about Iraq's connection to Al Qaeda before the war...and they used the info to sell the war anyway. Hmmmm... does this beat a stain on a red dress? Does this beat the bullshit lies about Vince Foster? The whole Clinton Chronicles right-wing fuck job with the truth?

But, let's be honest for a moment, folks... just a moment that is all we ask... but the far right and its nut job and religious fanatic base has never stopped lying, distorting, and manipulating facts, slandering people's reputations (see Bill Clinton and Joe Wilson for examples, eh?), and just forcing their imperial "we-rule-the-world" mentality.

Take a peek at the allegations in the NYT article:

A top member of Al Qaeda in American custody was identified as a likely fabricator months before the Bush administration began to use his statements as the foundation for its claims that Iraq trained Al Qaeda members to use biological and chemical weapons, according to newly declassified portions of a Defense Intelligence Agency document.

Without mentioning him by name, President Bush, Vice President Dick Cheney, Colin L. Powell, then secretary of state, and other administration officials repeatedly cited Mr. Libi’s information as “credible’’ evidence that Iraq was training Al 8Qaeda members in the use of explosives and illicit weapons.

What are the odds that we are seeing the beginning of an understanding that Bush should be impeached by more than those of us who have been following the facts and sussing out the lies?

Among the first and most prominent assertions was one by Mr. Bush, who said in a major speech in Cincinnati in October 2002 that “we’ve learned that Iraq has trained Al Qaeda members in bomb making and poisons and gases.’’

This report could destroy Bush and his crony-raked presidency if -- and IF -- people take it seriously and begin demanding answers. That is right, friends we really ARE seeing that. The recent ABC poll which said that 55% think that Bush and his debacle of an Administration mislead us into an ill advised war that has only improved terrorism around the middle east and made money for big companies like Haliburton combined with the Zogby poll that found that 53% believe he should be impeached IF he did mislead (and we KNOW that he did)...those numbers were never anywhere near that for Clinton during the right wing machinations of false impeachment.

Add to that that now only 33% think favorably of Bush, that is way below Clinton's low point. Well, I think Bush & Cheney are in near fatal trouble. And it is about damn time!

Just think about this quote from the NYT article:

Mr. Libi was not alone among intelligence sources later determined to have been fabricating accounts. Among others, an Iraqi exile whose code name was Curveball was the primary source for what proved to be false information about Iraq and mobile biological weapons labs. And American military officials cultivated ties with Ahmad Chalabi, the head of the Iraqi National Congress, an exile group, who has been accused of feeding the Pentagon misleading information in urging war.

One has to wonder how this will affect the republican party not just now but into the near future? The religious zealots are not unthinkingly behind their guy anymore after Miers... the Democrats are beginning to grow them some backbones (to a limited extentm yes), the world hates Bush for how he has helped -- yeah, damn right... helped extremism and terrorism grow around the world, Rove may yet be indicted, Libby is going to have to answer some difficult questions about white house shenanigans... and now we have proof... damn it all... real proof that they lied their asses off (if they had any to begin with) to take us to war!

How can all of this not seriously unravel the party? Perhaps the war that they created will ultimately devour them. I, for one, hope that it will. Someone should have to pay for all of the death and destruction these monsters caused.

So, as you read the report, it becomes clear that the Bushies had not one, not two, but three separate false leads? "Curveball", Al Libi, and Chalabi? And all of them lied and/or the information was misused. Wow, what more do we need for a special prosecutor? But of course, for the nutpublicans... does it all leave a stain on a red dress?

And if you think that Colin "Mr. Credability" Powell would not mislead us... remember to things.

One. He was involved in the Mai Lai massacre in Vietnam.

And Two... Mr. Powell relied heavily on accounts provided by Mr. Libi for his speech to the United Nations Security Council on Feb. 5, 2003, saying that he was tracing “the story of a senior terrorist operative telling how Iraq provided training in these weapons to Al Qaeda.’’

And what's more: Al Libi was TORTURED into this...he lied under torture!!!

Impeach Bush, investigate his cronies, restore democracy. Now.
