Three Generations (of Republicans) are Enough

It's true that Buck v. Bell1 was not Oliver Wendell Holmes' finest hour, nor is this driftglass'; but it still made me giggle and admire the latter's Photoshop technique.

More seriously, watching the PBS Supreme Court program2 this week, we're reminded that Carrie Buck was not sterilized3 because she was "feeble-minded," but rather because she was an eighteen year-old female who was poor, unmarried, and pregnant (as the result of a rape, no less). Oh, and that the Virginia compulsory sterilization law under which Buck was violated was not repealed until 1974.

1 274 U.S. 200 (1927) for you Esqs. and btw, Blogger, would it kill you to offer a little superscript capability? Thanks to Spork for teaching me how to create superscript. Apologies, Blogger.
2 We didn't catch the entire program, but from what we saw it was not, to our relief, dominated by wingnuts.
3 Today, we'd classify what the state of Virginia did to Buck as battery, folks.

Hello just wanted to give you a quick heads up. The text in your content seem
to be running off the screen in Internet explorer.
I'm not sure if this is a formatting issue or something to do with internet browser compatibility but I figured I'd post to
let you know. The layout look great though!
Hope you get the issue resolved soon. Kudos
