Ca-ching!
Iowa egg producers don't have to disclose salmonella test results to state or federal regulators, egg farms are told days in advance about inspections, federal regulators don't fine or close egg farms where violations are found and some egg farms refuse to tell government inspectors what brands their eggs are sold under.

O'Blowme and Holder should have to suck these eggs.
"Some egg farms" might refuse to tell what brands their dangerous eggs are sold under, but the FDA at least has some sort of a list up on its public info site about the recall:
"Shell eggs under the August 13, 2010 recall are packaged under the brand names: Lucerne, Albertson, Mountain Dairy, Ralph’s, Boomsma’s, Sunshine, Hillandale, Trafficanda, Farm Fresh, Shoreland, Lund, Dutch Farms and Kemps. Shell eggs are packed in 6-egg cartons, 12-egg cartons, 18-egg cartons, and loose eggs with Julian dates ranging from 136 to 225 and plant numbers 1026, 1413 and 1946."
Finally!
We have achieved a level playing field between Grandma and the major food corporations.
USA! USA! USA!
Thanks, rich people, lobbyists and rightwing politicians, for making this achievement possible!
USA! USA! USA!
We don't need no pointy-headed bureaucrats tellin' us what kind of eggs to eat.
USA! USA! USA!
We now have the Ayn Randish experiment implemented... no government regulation, buyer be damned. The egg farmer will regulate themselves when most of their customers are dead or sickened.
darwin? is that you?
we buy local organic.
