Let's pull out the ol' "Class Warfare" Chestnut

OMG, a modest tax increase on millionaires that reduces the "greatest evil of all time" the deficit...why it's ...it's....it's still class warfare. In which case bring it, because it hasn't been much of a war so far, just panzers driving over us proles.

It is always, and only, class warfare whenever we fight back, even in the most modest and ineffectual ways.

The new normal is a whack on the head with the expectation that the employee say, "thank you, sir, may I have another?"

It's not exactly class warfare when one side has capguns and water balloons and the other has cruise missiles and neutron bombs.

What irks me most about this inevitable claim of class warfare is that it's largely made by right-wing idiots of very modest means on behalf of people that couldn't give a fuck about them. And, it's entirely symbolic--I don't see hedge fund managers being dragged out of their offices and beheaded, or multinational CEOs drawn-and-quartered on their front lawns.

I do see, however, tens of millions of ordinary people gradually being shorn of their property, their livelihoods, their savings, their health and their dignity.

That's how class warfare is really waged.

Repuke hypocrite bullshit factory at work.
Any stimulus project is "increasing the deficit".
Any tax rise that reduces the deficit is "hurting the economy".

Until the next Repuke dumbfuck lands in the Shite House, at which point it will be back to "Reagan proved deficits don't matter."

I don't know if you who live in the US have even heard about this, but the latest IRS tax scam is to try to tax the living shit out of expat Americans who live outside the US

For example, in places like Canada, where I and one million other joint US-Canadian citizens live, work and pay taxes.

The IRS in its wisdom has decided that what they need is a big bite out of our (Canadian) pensions, savings, etc... and I ain't talking about rich people here, just ordinary middle class people like me, a retired teacher.

To add insult to injury the IRS forms that need to be filled out for this are so complicated that ordinary people can't do it themselves, so it is necessary to hire special tax international experts who cost about $15,000 to file it for us.

To add further insult to further injury, the US has a law that you can't revoke your US citizenship until you pay all taxes that the IRS claims you owe.

To pile further insult upon injury, I find that I am now indebted to the Conservative Minister of Finance, Jim Flaherty (aka "the evil leprechaun") who is apparently the only person speaking out on our behalf.

But, hey! As long as the rich are not inconvenienced in any way!
