I guess I'm a little bit late to the party on this one, but I've finally figured it out...
.. wingnuttery is all about getting negative attention.
Logic it totally pointless to them, since it does not bring them negative attention.
This is why you will never win an argument with a wingnut--- as soon as the argument ends, so does the negative attention.
A better metaphor would be a shriveled black heart being stalked by a frustrated Grim Reaper.
On second thought, that's not so much a metaphor as an observation.
My first thought was .. CHRIS CHRISTIE!! looking for lunch...
I didn't become a politicain to steal money.. unlike others.. nor to help people.. well other people..
I became a politican because all of the free LUNCHES!!
