(Reuters) - Three people including a retired sheriff's deputy were wounded on Saturday at a gun show in North Carolina when a 12-gauge shotgun accidentally discharged as its owner was taking it out of its case, state officials said. ... Saturday's shooting occurred when Gary Lynn Wilson, 36, of Wilmington, North Carolina, approached the entrance of the Dixie Gun and Knife Show in Raleigh to have his personal firearm inspected. The shotgun fired as he removed it from its case, according to a statement by the North Carolina Department of Agriculture, a host of the gun show.

But wait -- there's more:
At gun shows in Indiana, Ohio and North Carolina, a total of five people were injured Saturday in accidental shootings as people flocked to the events on what was marketed as Gun Appreciation Day.
A Second Amendment hero in Indianapolis shot himself in the hand at the gun show as he was unloading a .45 semi-automatic. And another Second Amendment hero (who's also a gun dealer) in Ohio shot his friend in the arm with a gun he had just purchased at -- you guessed it -- the gun show.
For these Second Amendment Heroes it was also Bullet Appreciation Day. As it will be for each gun owner who kills or injures himself with his gun, or kills or injures a family member with his gun, or has one of his family kill or injure someone else in his family or himself with his gun.
Ladeeez and Gentlemen, your NRA.
Would it be uncharitable to suggest that guns would not be quite so much a problem without all the crazy and stupid they attract?
like drunk driving. it would be ok if they were only killing themselves.
