We'll keep the freeance, you take the peeance.

Who could have anticipated -- the post-anticipatining:
Ten years and $60 billion in American taxpayer funds later, Iraq is still so unstable and broken that even its leaders question whether U.S. efforts to rebuild the war-torn nation were worth the cost.

In his final report to Congress, Special Inspector General for Iraq Reconstruction Stuart Bowen's conclusion was all too clear: Since the invasion a decade ago this month, the U.S. has spent too much money in Iraq for too few results.

The reconstruction effort "grew to a size much larger than was ever anticipated," Bowen told The Associated Press in a preview of his last audit of U.S. funds spent in Iraq, to be released Wednesday. "Not enough was accomplished for the size of the funds expended."

And no one will ever be held accountable.

That should be $600 billion, no? $60 billion is even less than Dick Cheney's bullshit estimate in 2003 that the war would cost "only" $80 billion.

Some estimates even place the true cost of all the wars at $3–4 trillion.

And amazing how wingers for the most part don't know or care. Out of sight, out of Faux News, out of mind.

But don't worry -- they'll find yet another "enemy" to run off and kill...well, not themselves personally...

Just by way of elucidation, if someone says that based on this report, our military dead died for nothing, you're not necessarily denigrating their service.

I know that some people will get confused on that point.

The were strictly talking about reconstruction funds being wasted...

all that other money was spent wisely killing people so it does not count.

Only building schools that no one will use and then get blown up by the Taliban is counted...

or barracks where all the toilets are on the second floor above teh dormitory... and of course leak crap all over the beds...(this gets counted as half successfull.
