Credit where it's due

As he hasn't had the opportunity to go on "Meet the Press" and demand somebody be bombed the last couple weeks (how long until David Gregory wipes his chin and gets on that?) John McCain actually had time to be pithy, and I admit it worked.
Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) shrugged off Rep. Louie Gohmert’s (R-TX) insinuation that he was an “al Qaeda supporter” in an interview with NBC Nightly News host Brian Williams on Wednesday, while conceding to an increasing amount of polarization between lawmakers.

“On that particular issue, sometimes comments like that are made out of malice,” McCain told Williams. “But if someone has no intelligence, I don’t view it as being a malicious statement. You can’t respond to that kind of thing.”

So, we shouldn't blame the Republicans for shutting down the government, then.

I heard that and just about fell off the couch. Did McCain mean no "Intelligence" like confidential info, or "intelligence" like no brains?

Either way, it was fucking hilarious.

I’m actually worried now. Senator McCranky announced today that “there will be no more shutdowns. ”
This is from the guy who crashed a couple planes, lost by a landslide to the President and picked Caribou Barbie for a running mate. If McCain’s record holds true, Speaker of the House Cruz will have everything but the war memorials shut down by next week and “no intelligence” Gomer will discover the unified field theory.
Also, too. Carnival Cruz said today that he “would have gotten away with it, too, if it weren’t for those meddling kids and their dog.”
