Farewell, "It's Pat" the Despot

Farewell to you and your round of 19 the first time you played golf:
Kim Jong Il, North Korea's mercurial and enigmatic longtime leader, has died of heart failure. He was 69. In a "special broadcast" Monday from the North Korean capital, state media said Kim died of a heart ailment on a train due to a "great mental and physical strain" on Dec. 17 during a "high intensity field inspection."
So two wetsuits and a ball gag then?

Meanwhile, North Korea is surely making such decisions on "merit", y'know like the Republican Party or cable news punditry:
Kim Jong-un, Kim Jong-il's youngest son, was named by North Korea's official news agency KCNA as the "great successor" to his father, which lauded him as "the outstanding leader of our party, army and people."
He's the Luke Russert of Pyongyang!
