In other news of "awesomeness"

There's this.  Of course, there's always stories like this:

Police in Indiana say a Michigan City man accidentally shot and killed a child in his care while playing a dangerous "gun game" with the boy.

Zachariah L. Grisham, 24, was arrested an charged with neglect and reckless homicide following the death of his girlfriend's son, 3-year-old Lance Wilson, this past Sunday.

According to Det. Sgt. Andy Hynek of the La Porte County Sheriff's Department the "gun game" Grisham would often play with Lance consisted of the boy pointing a finger gun at Grisham, followed by Grisham pointing his real gun at Lance and pulling the trigger.

Grisham told authorities he forget he had loaded the gun earlier that day.

How many layers of asshole are there in this story?

Not sure how, but somehow more guns and less restriction over gun ownership would have prevented this..

Yes. If the three year old had been armed, he could have defended himself!

Some 19 year old guy in my hometown was shot and killed by his 8 year old stepdaughter when he was showing off a new handgun. He took the clip out, but a bullet was chambered and she pulled the trigger.

Her 35 year old mother was asleep in the next room.

So now an 8 year old has to live with the fact that she killed a man, and how do you ever erase that image from a kid's head?

Yeah, more guns, less regulations. It's working so well.

Morons + guns. Not a good situation in even the best of circumstances.

Now, we can't do much about morons, but we can do something about guns.

No need to mock this guy.
His life is over- he's looking at decades of remorse.

I fought the lawn. And the lawn won. said...

if I were this idiot, Id be using my gun to shoot myself right about now.

I just couldn't live with the shame.

it might be some kind of justification of continuing living if this moron were to make,it his life mission to try to prevent his fellow morons from buying guns and playing with guns.

but he sounds like the type of moron who.would be too stupid to ever consider that.

You know, in my youth the National Rifle Association's mission in life was to teach children about gun safety, with emphasis on all the rules violated in this awful story. They did a good job. What zombies ate their brains round about 1980?
