We Will Win and They Will Lose, Right?

The most recent terrorist attacks have prompted a new round of patriotic blather and righteousness about being on the side of good. Today listeners to NPR's Morning Edition got to hear news analyst Cokie Roberts predict that Bush's approval ratings will go up because of the attacks in London. Is it too much to ask for a meaningful debate on the question of whether we are safer because of our boondoggle in Iraq? Over at Kos, Plutonium Page raised the question yesterday whether we can ever win.
