Will Democrats get their act together?

I have to wonder as reading the New York Times this morning that the Democrats have a unique opportunity to get their act together and actually win a few key seats in the House and Senate in the Fall midterm elections.

Think of the possibilities where a collapsing Bush presidency because of indictments against Scooter Lewis and Karl "I am above the law!" Rove, a disaster in Iraq -- God, why did they have to do it this way?? -- that is only getting worse after the puppet Iraqi government collapses, ethics-challgened republicans find themselves in the spotlight such as Hot Tub Tom Delay, Bill Frist, and Bob "I love golfing for free" Taft, stratospheric gas and oil prices, the running amok of the religious right with this idiotic "Intelligent Design" and more of these prayfest Sundays where they make asses out of themselves (thank you Daily Show!) -- all of this will paralyze the remaining Bush agenda and could even create an opening for democrats if they take it and do something with it.

But remember these people are the masters of deception and spinners of irrationality. They will say that as dems take control for a year and a half before the presidential election that all of the problems were created by liberals and democrats. Yup, that is what they will do.

In fact, I have to wonder if the strategy that they are thinking about now is suffering some losses now so that they can do what they always do -- blame the democrats. I am not suggesting that the republicans are planning on losing. Just that they have their strategy of innocence and blaming ready to go. Come on. They follow that strategy even when they are in power.

So nothing should surprise us. I am just enjoying that the media is finally presenting a few of their problems. What a screwed up media we have when that is progress.
