Killing and the Religious Right

This story details how the outgoing Republican Attorney General, who has been on a long-running antiabortion crusade against Dr. George Tiller of Wichita, appointed a special prosecutor in an effort to elongate his influence in the AG's office. Turns out his appointee has protested in front of Tiller's clinic, and is longtime pals with the late Paul deParrie, one of the most prominent leaders of the Army of God (only one of many dangerous religious right-wing cults), who praised Shelly Shannon, the attempted assasin of Dr. Tiller, as a "hero" and Godly person. What is it with the weird religious right-wing's whacky equating of killing and devine graditude? Seems strangely death cult like to me.

"Kline's new special prosecutor joins Operation Rescue protests in front of Dr. Tiller's clinic. McKinney freely admits to years of close association with a prominent operative of an antiabortion terror group, the Army of God. And the Attorney General of Kansas has vested this denizen of the far-right fringe with the full investigational authority of the state."
