Miscellany

(Tried to post a few times today, but Blogger has been mean to me.)

Anyway...

Obama's in. Good: more choice at this stage of the game will lead to a better outcome.

Pooty Poot is being fresh again. No worries. I'm sure our crack, Ferragamo-loving, Soviet specialist of a Secretary of State is on the job.

There is one interesting thing (at least from a lawyer's perspective) about the death of Anna Nicole Smith. Her former husband -- the one whose estate has been the subject of a grand guignol of a court saga (including a trip to The Supremes)? Guess what the guy did (among other things) before he got rich as an oilman:
In 1994, Ms. Smith married J. Howard Marshall II, a Texas oil billionaire and former professor of trusts and estates at Yale Law School whom she had met in the course of her dancing career.
Somewhere, Professor Dukeminier is smiling.

I'm watching 2001 on TCM. I've seen it a few times, once in 70mm. But like Macs, oysters, and tiny dogs, I just don't get it. Please, someone, tell me what this movie is about.

Finally, Dr. Atta J. Turk should be back either tomorrow or Monday at the latest. I'd like to thank him for giving me the keys to his blog while he was off plotting total world domination.
