Sadly,

We'll be hearing this statement a lot in the next few weeks, while the Bush Administration discusses the "Anbar Miracle" and maintains a straight face, after all "we're kickin' ass":

Four U.S. Marines were killed in fighting in Anbar province, and three were killed by a roadside bomb in northern Iraq, the military said Friday.

The four Marines were killed Thursday while conducting combat operations in Anbar, a predominantly Sunni province west of Baghdad that has seen a recent drop in violence, according to a statement.

And then we'll hear 'bout the "metrics" and the "snapshots" and the "trends" with the details we can't see, but we just have to trust.

What Would Westmoreland Do?
