Y'know, I'm not so sure about that (just thinking about the documentary, "Blood in the Face," and musing that it was made twenty years ago).
They certainly are more visible than they once were, and we have the news media to thank for making them seem far more mainstream than they actually are.
But, no question, Obama's election has made them more vocal.

April 18th, 1983 was the bombing of the US Embassy in Beirut, Lebanon. April is indeed the cruelest month.
