Strange and just fucking sad

This is strange (and not a small bit sad).

What the hell? At this point, it's the only reaction we can have to Alvin Greene, the unemployed veteran who beat out a much more-qualified opponent in the South Carolina Democratic Senate primary. Watch his halting Countdown interview for yourself.

This, however, is just fucking sad.

24 year old Luke Russert, speaking of the South Carolina Democratic primary:

"I've been covering politics for this network for two years and been around politics my whole life and this is the strangest story I've ever seen."

You've barely had your pubes come in you nepotism-blessed jackass, shut your gob. It's bad enough dealing with Broder when it's Broder -- fuck if I'm going to put up with from NBC News's fetted Jonas Brother-like asshole.

you know what was strange? in the aftermath of katrina, tim russert persecuting a distraught parish president who broke down in tears because his elderly mother died due to lack of federal response.

the only thing strange about this story, is the most obvious cause of Green's "win" isn't even being discussed.... it doesn't matter who votes, all that matters is who or what counts the votes, and if that process is verifiable and transparent... All their voting is done by and tabulated via faith-based voting machines... you hope they work, and hope who you voted for is who is counted... but don't demand that it be verified, because it can't be...

My sister lives down in SC, was heavily involved in the Democratic primary from a campaigning aid to one of the candidates who decided to go Green Party after the official Dem party dicked him around... she had never heard of Alvin Green, didn't know he was even on the ticket, and was shocked as hell and confused at several of the races outcomes... It's really not so confusing if you're willing to look beyond the "conventional wisdom" being pushed and examine the entire process...

and the one weak check against vote manipulation has been thoroughly trashed in this country... when was the last time you heard about "exit polls"? When was the last time there was a serious attempt to even do one?

sc holds an open primary. that made me wonder, sukabi. sure enough, arkansas was an open primary as well.

isn't it the state party's responsibility to vet candidates before placing them on the ballot?

Anyone know what kind of voting machines they use down there in S.C.? Kinda defies logic that some unknown who never bothered to campaign won in all but FOUR counties.

And has anyone asked WHY? If he's a plant ... a GOP plant no less, what is it about Jim DeMint that would make this plant necessary in the first place? Something funny going on his C-Street closet? Dead girl? Live boy? Bueller?

SB

According to the SC state website they use the iVotronic machine and have a nice little video to show you how to set it up.

According to folks on the ground in SC they are using ES&S machines... and the votes cast do not equal votes counted in the Greene race... there are decidely more counted "votes"
