Priorities

Priority 1:

We’re not going to raise the debt ceiling without real cuts in spending,” Boehner, an Ohio Republican, told reporters in Washington yesterday.
Because it's working so well.

The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office on Thursday estimated that keeping the spending cuts from sequestration in place through fiscal 2014 would cost up to 1.6 million jobs.

Canceling the cuts, on the other hand, would yield between 300,000 to 1.6 million new jobs, with the most likely outcome being the addition of 900,000, the CBO said.

Any job plans?

A growing group of congressional Republicans is pushing leaders to defund ObamaCare in the next government spending bill, setting the stage for a showdown in September, when the current continuing resolution expires.

So no then.

I'm sure the "Master Negotiator" in the White House has another cunning plan centered around chained-CPI though.

Sen. Burr (distant relative of Vice-President Aaron, a dozen generations removed) says trying to shut down the government over Obamacare is “the dumbest idea I’ve ever heard of”. That puts it right in the House Majority Leader’s wheelhouse.

Excruciatingly bad things usually happen when you let yourself be led around by your Boehner.

I still think this is all just a bad case of bitter uglies because the country didn't elect another Republican brain-damaged, morally-deficient dry drunk like Bush.

These skeevy little assholes are determined to make the country pay for not humoring them. If the country were smart, it would throw them out. But, it's not, unfortunately. This is sort of a backhanded lesson about democracy not surviving without a well-informed citizenry....
